German and Russian Students Receive Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Awards

Congratulations to our German and Russian students for winning Fulbright awards to teach English!

 

Lindsay Burgess '24

 

German student Lindsay Burgess ‘24 (majors in Science-Business and German (supplementary)) was awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach English in Lower Saxony, Germany, for the 2024-2025 academic year. On campus, Lindsay served as a co-race director for the Holy Half Marathon, works as a boxing club manager, is involved in Special Olympics, and served as Professor Jones’ grader for Intermediate German.

 

Sarah Bender '24

 

 

Russian student Sarah Bender '24 (majors in Political Science and Statistics) was awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach English in Brezno, Slovakia for the 2024-2025 academic year. Sarah is also a member of the swim team and served as Professor Wang's grader for Intermediate Russian.

 

 

Lincoln Bargender '22

 

Lincoln Bargender ’22 (majored in German and Philosophy and minored in Constitutional Studies) was awarded a Fulbright to teach English in Germany for the 2024-25 school year. While an undergraduate, Lincoln played the saxophone in the Notre Dame Marching Band and served as a research assistant with Professor Boes. Lincoln is currently in his second year teaching in Phoenix, Arizona, through the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) Program.
