For graduate students

While the Department of German & Russian does not have its own graduate program, our faculty regularly work with graduate students in departments such as English, Philosophy, Theology, or History. We will gladly mentor you if your research interests touch upon German or Russian subjects, and we can also co-advise dissertations.

Graduate students can also enroll in most of our undergraduate courses, including language classes. If there is no graduate section listed for a class in which you are interested, please contact the instructor directly.

We regularly offer a graduate reading exam for students who need it to fulfill their distribution requirements. Please send an email to our administrative assistant, Amanda Anderson, to learn about the next scheduled date.

Finally, don’t forget about the many amazing resources at Hesburgh Library.
