LECTURE: The Bionic Body: Technology, Disability, and Humanism

In her lecture, Professor Magda Romanska will provide an in-depth look at modern representations of the disabled in theater, lm, and new media. She will show how the concept of the bionic body a ects representations of disability in contemporary culture, and how such representations in turn a ect the changing boundaries of what is and isn’t considered “human.” 

Magda Romanska is Visiting Associate Professor of Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale School of Drama Associate Professor of Dramaturgy and Theatre Studies at Emerson College; Research Associate at Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies and Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University
